Shoulder screws are used in punch and die construction. They are also known as shoulder bolts, stripper bolts or set screws. They are defined as screws with an unthreaded shoulder that is larger in diameter than the threads. Shoulder screws are used for rotation or sliding applications, such as pulley shafts, in punch or die works for example in order to limit the die springs in the stamp housing or the mould, or for use as bearing pins. They are also used as axels and pivot points.
