Oil level sight glasses are a simple, easy method of reading the level of fluid in a container or tank. Sight glasses with minimum and maximum markings are ideal for situations where either over filling, or allowing a tank to run dry would be catastrophic to the correct execution of the application. They are available in a variety of materials, allowing different fluids or levels of pressure. If the liquid level is to fluctuate by a large amount, a column shape indicator is recommended.
Threaded plugs or sealing plugs are used to seal the end of a pipe or other opening and in most cases a rubber ring is used to ensure a tight, leak free seal. These rings are captured within a groove in the plug, and as such, cannot fall out and be lost during fitting. This section also contains exhaust & breather valves and filters, allowing venting of tanks when a set pressure is reached and so preventing explosions.
