Both revolving and fixed handles are perfect for turning operations, such as when attached to a flywheel, and come in many shapes such as elliptical, cylindrical, conical and tapered. Revolving handles allow for faster rotations of flywheels or handwheels, however fixed handles may allow great precision of the rotation.
Retractable handles and safety handles can be locked into position, including those where operation is only possible when manually held in position and will automatically return to the retracted position when released.
Ball knobs and gear levers are designed to fit snugly into the palm of the hand for comfortable usage. Domed, tapered and cylindrical knobs are classic designs. Gear lever handles also included a steel or stainless steel shaft. Push pull knobs are ideal for use as a more robust option to a switch, and the mushroom shape and waisted shape variations of these allow the fingers to fit easily underneath, while those with a concave top provide a comfortable thumb rest. T handles are useful where the pulling operation requires more force.
