A range of high quality, top retained demountable pillar sets.
The IEM-RD guide pillars are designed to be used with both our plain bushes and ball bearing bushings and are ideal for either system. They are manufactured from hardened steel to ensure long life and high wear resistance and allow free movement of the ball bearings. They have a unique mounting method that eliminates scoring of the surface by allowing the ball cage to rotate 360° around the guide pillar, except under preload. The cages are retained on the pillar at all times so this allows the pillars to separate from the bushes if a fixed stroke is used on the press. These guide pillars, or as they are sometimes called, guide pins, are used in the assembly of a press tool to guide the tool to ensure correct alignment of the top and bottom parts of the die set. They are therefore vital to produce accurate, precise results each time.
It is equally important to fit the correct bushes. Our plain demountable bearing bushings are available in three profile sizes to give you the optimum fit for your die set design, and low profile bushings, coupled with low mount clampings, give the maximum available space for die set use. Our plain and demountable bushings have figure 8 oil grooves and lubrication fittings and steel and bronze lined variants are available.
Our ball bearing stripper bushes and cages have exceptional strength for a long service life and the ball bearing cages have the arrangement of the ball bearings in a spiral pattern which also contributes to the prevention of damage and ensures even wear. Our plain and demountable bushings have figure 8 oil grooves and lubrication fittings and steel and bronze lined variants are available.
These pillars and bushings are held in place with clamps and screws which provide perfect alignment and have four times the holding power of pressed in components, yet they can be easily removed and assembled thus simplifying die building and maintenance.
