GN50.45 Retaining Magnet, Through Bore 

This shielded retaining magnet, GN 50.45 is a simple, cost effective and long lasting means of securely holding items in place without causing damage.

This pot magnet consists of a metal shell containing a powerful magnet. This shell directs the magnetic field lines downward to the contact surface. This causes the magnetic force to be concentrated at the contact surface and therefore increases the strength of the magnet. However, owing to the lower magnetic conductivity of a stainless steel housing, the adhesive forces are lower than a comparable magnet in steel.

This adhesive force occurs only on direct contact with the counterpart. This magnet is not suitable for attraction over distance. For the best adhesive force the contact surface should ideally be a thick, smooth and unpainted surface.

It has a through bore for fixing in place.

To ensure that the magnetic properties (adhesive forces) are not impaired, the fixing screws must be made of non-magnetic material.
