The desired level at which the switching point is to be reached is determi- ned by the length of the float rod. With the float removed, this rod can be shortened; a scale for oil or water facilitates determining the exact length. The top end of the float rod features a magnet which activates a reed contact when the appropriate position is reached, irrespective of the me- dium to be monitored. Depending on the installation position of the magnet in the float rod, either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) may be operated. When delivered, the magnet is set for operating normally open (NO).
